You know how people love to say they’re dorky, but they’re not dorky, they’re just quirky and cute? I am actually dorky. I’m obsessed with efficiency, and have always looked for the fastest and best way to literally do anything. I die a little when I get a giant Amazon box full of bubble wrap, packing peanuts, ticcue paper, and the two double-A batteries I ordered.
All I have ever wanted to do is help people, fight for justice, empower marginalized and vulnerable people and communities - because I personally wanted, and want, justice. I worked in HIV Prevention, reproductive health, youth development, harassment and mis-treatment prevention, non-profit management consulting, CDC evidence-based programs training and intervention design, at-risk adolescent health and behavior change, social marketing, Internet based education and intervention design, new-media digital marketing for service organizations, new-media informed, community-based participatory-approach program development, and digital advertising for service organizations. So I’ve been around.
So I am now obsessed with a more efficient way to get people the help and support they need. New Media is that efficiency innovation, and I teach agencies that help people how to use it to create authentic, science-based digital marketing materials. But, it’s just more efficient to have the people those materials are designed to reach create them.
We connect agencies to the people they serve. We cultivate relationships between those agencies and those people. We cultivate communities.
